ASMARA (SD) -President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today reached the city of Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, on an official visit.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who began a two-day working visit to Eritrea, was received by the President of the country, Isaias Afwerki.

They will discuss cooperation between Somalia and Eritrea and the latest developments in the Horn of Africa region.

Eritrea had previously trained a group of soldiers from Somalia’s army, which is currently engaged in fighting against Al-Shabaab, while the country continues to provide further training to other units of the Somali military.
