May 23, 2023 (SD) – Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, speaking at the Sharm El Sheikh summit, highlighted the importance of development funds as a key response to the challenges facing Somalia.
In a constructive panel exchange with the Prime Ministers of Egypt, Rwanda, Burundi, the President of Comoros, and the Vice President of Tanzania, the Prime Minister stated that his government has implemented six key priorities to achieve progress and stability in Somalia.
PM Hamsa, in the presence of various participating leaders, shared how their governments are making significant strides in advancing economic development and promoting peace to meet the aspirations of the Somali people and address pressing issues such as poverty eradication and the improvement of living conditions.
Lastly, the Prime Minister emphasized that the conflicts experienced by Somalia and other war-torn nations have accumulated numerous challenges, requiring comprehensive international assistance to rebuild and restore the global economic system.
