PM Hamza in Nairobi for talks with Kenyan leaders

NAIROBI (SD) -Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, made his first official trip to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, since assuming office in June 2022.

Hamza received an official invitation from the President of Kenya, William Ruto, with whom he will engage in discussions in Nairobi.

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between the two countries, as stated in a joint statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office.

Reports suggest that Prime Minister Hamza’s trip focuses on enhancing bilateral ties and mutual defense and security cooperation between the two nations.

Furthermore, discussions will be held on matters of transportation, trade, investment, improving the quality of public services, and overall socio-economic development of both countries.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who made several visits to Nairobi since taking office, also signed various agreements with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto.
