PM Roble open to discuss candidates election concerns

Baidoa (SD) The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, addressed at a press conference in Baidoa, the capital of Bay region spoke of concerns still remain in the country’s electoral commissions he had previously announced.

MP Roble said he was closely following the concerns expressed by the opposition candidates holding meetings in Mogadishu about the commissions.

He also indicated that he was ready to sit down with the presidential candidates, to discuss the appointed committees.

The prime minister also added that he would hold separate consultations with opposition leaders to find a common solution.

He said it was important to implement the agreements reached on the elections, which he said were set up by the disputed commissions.

The federal government and the opposition are still at loggerheads over the election process, especially the formation of election commissions.

Somalia is gearing up for elections later this year and early next year, including parliamentary and presidential elections.
