MOGADISHU (SD) – Reports from Hiliwaa district in Banadir region confirm that a grenade was thrown at a police station last night.
People who spoke to local Media said that a bomb blast was heard near the Hiliwaa police station in Mogadishu, followed by a shootout between the attackers and troops inside the compound.
The shoutout lasted for a few minutes, after which the attackers fled the scene, and the situation reportedly returned to normal.
There are no reported casualties of the Bamba attack and the clashes that followed in Hiliwaa district of Banadir region.
Al-Shabaab has recently launched a series of attacks on police stations in Kahda district and Dar es Salaam area of Mogadishu, resulting in casualties, injuries and destroyed buildings.
