Man Arrested in Columbus for the murder of Imam Mohammed

COLUMBUS (SD) – A man has been arrested in Columbus for alleged plot to assassinate Imam Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Hassan Aden.

The arrested man named John W. Wooden Jr. has been charged in connection with the assassination of Imam Dr. Mohamed Hassan Aden.

According to the indictment, the accused killer is a former criminal who was released from prison in March 2021, after completing an unspecified sentence.

Sheikh Mohamed went missing soon after leaving the Mosque around 7:00 pm on December 23, 2021, he was found days later dead in a car by Somali nationals searching for the sheikh.

Somalis around the world were shocked by the brutal killing of Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Hassan Aden, who was described a pillar in the community.
