MOGADISHU (SD) -The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, had a telephone conversation with the U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, to discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries.
During their discussion, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Secretary Blinken discussed various issues, including the fight against terrorist groups and the Somali government’s plans following the conclusion of the African Union’s ATMIS mission.
They also addressed the security and stability of the Horn of Africa.
The President and Secretary Blinken discussed the role of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), which recently appointed an interim representative. Additionally, the President expressed his gratitude for the comprehensive support provided by the United States to Somalia.
