Washington (SD) – US President Joe Biden sent a virtual message to the 34th African Union Summit. Biden said his government would show strong support for the organization, including COVID-19 and security issues.
“The United States stands ready to be your partner, in solidarity, support, and mutual respect. We believe in the nations of Africa. In the continent-wide spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation. And though the challenges are great, there is no doubt that our nations, our people, and the African Union are up to this task.” – President Biden’s uplifting message to the African Union.
The 34th African Union Summit opens in Addis Ababa today. The conference will run for two days. The summit is expected to elect a new chairman to lead the organization for the next one year.
