Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi has donated a large sum of money to the construction of a mosque in the United Kingdom.

Muse Bihi made the donation at a fundraising event in Hargeisa to contribute to the construction of Al Huda Mosque in London.

Muse Bihi ordered a donation of hundred thousand dollars ($ 100,000) from the state coffers giving it to the construction of the mosque.

The Somaliland Minister of Religion Sheikh Khalil Abdullahi Ahmed, said at the fundraising event in Hargeisa, that they told the President the circumstances surrounding Mosque, he then ordered government funds be donated.

The community has been debating on social media in recent days if its appropriate for the president to donate public funds at a private fundraiser.
