Hargeisa (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, today received at the Presidential Palace some of the Somali clerics who attended the recent Ansaru-sunna Summit in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.

Some of the prominent clerics who attending the meeting included Sheikh Abdirizak Abdillahi General Jiir, Sheikh Abdirashid Sheikh Ali Sufi, Sheikh Almis Yahye, Sheikh Mohamud Mohamed Halike, Dr. Ali Mohamed Salah and Sheikh Mustafe Haji Ismail Harun, all thanked the President for his warm welcome.

The clerics praised the Republic of Somaliland for its peace and security, the unity and solidarity between the people and the government, and the public’s interest in advancing their knowledge of Islam.

The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, welcomed the prominent religious leaders who took part in the large-scale conference in Somaliland.

“Thank God that so many scholars have come to us and prayed for us, and we are grateful to those who brought us so many scholars and their prayers. We love having so many scholars who remind us good deeds, here and the Hereafter. It is a support that we welcome very much.” Said President Bihi.

The president called on the clerics to pray for the nation, as to overcome the divisions among them, and advised them to help each other and the vulnerable people who need help.

The President was accompanied by the Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Saylici), the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdirizak Khalif Ahmed, the Second Vice Chairman of the Kulmiye Party, Ahmed Abdi Hussein (Ahmed Abdi Dheere) and some members of the cabinet.
