Hargeisa (SD) – The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi, speaking at an event in Hargeisa explained his political plan regarding the dialogue with the Federal Government of Somalia.

He said they do not reject being Somali, and are part of Greater Somalia, but oppose political coercion, when it comes to politics.

Muse Bihi added that whatever happens does not rule out being Somali, which links all five Somali regions, the differences are on what happened and how they were handled.

“To say that the people of Somaliland are against being a Somali is a lie. We are proud of being Somali, we are born of it, our bones and our blood are Somali, and we want Somalis to do things and progress. But the bad thing is to say that you are two regions and you have to abide by everything, ”said Muse Bihi Abdi.

The President of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi, went on to say, he rejects some of the political statements, which he described as further divisive rhetoric rather than seeking a solution.

The Presidents recent comments comes days after his government suspended cooperation with all UN agencies due to recent agreement between the UN and the Somali federal government, which relegated Somaliland to a regional state status rather then a autonomous state.
