President Deni addresses Somalia’s Upper house

Mogadishu (SD) – The President of Somalia’s Puntland State of Somalia Said Abdullahi Deni addressed Somalia’s upper house focusing on various political issues, saying that the country needed a real change.

Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni said the conflicting political views were not to remain in the dark but to be discussed in the open.

“Conflicting views should not be discussed in a dark room and not just say we disagree, Public forums should be set up, and important issues should be faced together broadly,” Deni said.

Speaking about his views on the situation in Mogadishu, the President of Puntland said that there has been no improvement in the last four years.

“There has been no change in Mogadishu in the last four years. I have been observing while traveling on the roads. There has been no improvement. The country is in a state of disarray. The society is still suffering.” he added.

President Deni recommended that a reconciliation to be held in order t o resolve the country’s political issues.

Speaking on the appointment of the new Prime Minister, President Deni said that many people had advised him not to talk about the Prime Minister’s appointment as those who should are not talking about it.
