President Deni appoints committee to assess security

Garowe (SD) – The President of Puntland State of Somalia, Said Abdullahi Deni appointed a committee to accelerate the security assessment of Puntland, particularly in the capital Garowe.

The President has instructed all the security branches and the various government forces to work with the committee, and help facilitate in fulfilling their obligations.

The three members Committee will be chaired by Gen. Bashir Mohamed Abdi returns, a former Somali police chief, Former Puntland State President Mohamed Abdirahman Farole, and Former director of Puntland’s intelligence agency PIA Abdirizaq Isse (Khatumo).

The committee is to conduct a security assessments and will recommend a new security process, to end drug trafficking, and improve government security plans.

Puntland continuous to battle extremist groups in the mountainous regions of that state and other agitators in cities like Bossaso and Galkayo.
