Mogadishu (SD) – The President of Puntland State of Somalia, Said Abdullahi Deni, has condemned the scandal surrounding the Federal Government of Somalia’s National Certificate Examination, which showed the failure of the largest number of students, particularly in the Banadir region.
President Deni, said that when Puntland rejected the Federal Examination, it expected that shame and similar outcome from the Examination, as there is no unified curriculum and syllabus for the county’s Students.
He also pointed out that the results of the Federal Certificate Examination were falsified, the exams were supposedly taken by students from Al-Shabaab-controlled areas, and the Government could not test those students.
President Deni also lamented that the government did not improve the education system and instead just failed many students whose parents were struggling to get them an education.
Puntland had boycotted the federal government’s National Certificate Examination, sitting the tests fall under their jurisdiction.
