President Deni “I swore to uphold the rule of law and I will not negotiate with anyone on that”

Garowe (SD) – The President of Puntland State of Somalia, Said Abdullahi Deni, said that it is important for all to abide by the rule of law, especially the various Puntland forces which have cost me a lot of time to build.

President Deni said that if the army violates the law, they would be punished more severely than civilians.

“Why Puntland is building and investing in the military is to have rule of law. I swore to uphold the law, and I will not negotiate with anyone,” he said.

In Bossaso, there is currently tension between the Puntland government and the PSF leadership, with heightened military activity in Bossaso.


Neither side has provided detailed information on the situation, and neither side has been willing to talk to the media.

The statement from Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni comes after firing the director of the Puntland Security Forces (PSF) sparking tensions in Bossaso, Bari region.
