BOSSASO (SD)-The President of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, held a meeting today in Bossaso with Sultan Said Sultan Abdisalam Garaad Mohamud Cali Shire, accompanied by the committee from the Elbuh Conference of the Warsangeli clan.

A brief statement from the Puntland presidency confirmed that President Deni welcomed Sultan Said Sultan Abdissalaan Garaad Maxamuud Cali Shire and the delegation from the Warsangeli Ceelbuh Conference. However, the Puntland government did not disclose details of the discussions.

A recent declaration from the Warsangeli clan’s Ceelbuh Conference in Sanaag region announced the nullification of a long-standing inter-clan agreement that had ensured peaceful cohabitation in the town of Ceerigaabo, the capital of Sanaag.

The seven-point declaration from the Warsangeli gathering explicitly stated that the “Four Clans Agreement,” which had governed Ceerigaabo, was nullified due to alleged violations by the Isaaq clan with the support of Somaliland.

The Warsangeli clan further resolved to fully defend Erigavo, accusing Somaliland of forcefully seizing the town, displacing Harti clan members, and confiscating their lands and properties.
