President Hassan gives details of his meeting with Fahad Yassin

Mogadishu (SD) – Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed his meeting last night in Mogadishu with Fahad Yassin, the commander of NISA.

Hassan Sheikh described the meeting as “non political” and described it as a ‘visit’ with no political agenda, dismissing the linkage to the appointment of a new prime minister and the country’s elections.

“The meeting between Fahad Yassin and me at my residence yesterday was not a political meeting,” said the former president posted on Twitter.
He added: “We have not discussed any political agenda. It was a greeting visit.

However, sources say the issues discussed included the long-awaited appointment of a new prime minister by President Farmajo.
The intention of the planned meeting is to seek an extension, and it may just be contingent on the oppositions involvement in picking the new PM, Fahad Yassin is seen as the bridge between the Opposition and Farmajo to make this happen.
