September 30, 2023 (SD) – -The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received the former Speakers of the Federal Parliament of Somalia and politicians from the South West regional states in the city of Dhusamareeb.

Politicians from the southwest region who arrived in Dhusamareeb to support the national army’s forces combating Al Shabaab were received by the President.

The President shared information about the political situation in the country, particularly in the South-West regions, and discussed their views on the state’s stability and their commitment to taking part in the fight against Al Shabaab.

The President emphasized that it is essential to unite and work together to counter the threat posed by Al Shabaab and expressed that it is not acceptable to allow them any foothold in Somalia.

He also highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and reconciliation to address the differing perspectives and bring peace to Somalia, free from extremism.
