MOGADISHU (SD) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo contacted Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi by telephone to discuss property damage caused by fire at Waheen Market in Hargeisa.
Farmajo shared Bihi with the grief and concern over the plight of business people in Hargeisa, and expressed the Federal Government of Somalia’s commitment to assist business people affected by the disaster.
“We extend our support and prayers to the business community who lost their livelihoods in this tragedy and to the Somaliland community at large. I call on the Somali people, wherever they are, to mobilize and support their brothers and sisters. ” Farmajo said in a released statement.
President Muse Bihi Abdi thanked President Farmajo for his commitment to support the traders who lost their property in last night’s fire in Hargeisa market.
The governments led by Muse Bihi and Mohamed Farmajo are embroiled in a political dispute over Somaliland’s independence.
