Mogadishu (SD) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni and Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam held a meeting with the Opposition Candidates Union in Halane today.

The meeting is a part of a series of special meetings initiated by the Presidents of Puntland and Jubbaland in Mogadishu, since their arrival, listening to the suggestions and opinions of Candidates and other political stakeholders.

At the meeting, the parties discussed election issues, including the February 19 event and finding solutions to the challenges of achieving a solutions for the country’s elections.

The Union of Opposition Candidates and the leaders of the Puntland and Jubbaland administrations currently have close ties, and have joined forces in opposition to President Farmajo.

Presidents of Jubbaland and Puntland are in Mogadishu to participate in election discussion process meetings with the president and the federal and state governments and Benadir region.
