Prime Minister Roble appoints Ministerial Committee to assist drought victims

Mogadishu (SD) – Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble today appointed a new Ministerial Committee on Drought Relief.

Somali Federal Government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu said the committee would work to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the drought.

The announcement was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Guled Khadar, the Minister of Relief and Disaster Management, Khadijo Mohamed Diriye, the Minister of Finance, Dr. Abdirahman Duale Beyle, and the Minister of National Planning, Jamal Mohamed Hassan and other officials.

The Somali Prime Minister called on the Somalis in the Diaspora to help their brothers and sisters affected by the drought.

In the coming days, the Somali Prime Minister is expected to hold meetings with business people and religious leaders to assist in the relief efforts for those affected by the drought.
