Mogadishu (SD) – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, held an online meeting with Somalia’s Federal, State and Dispute Resolution Electoral Commissions.
The Prime Minister instructed the Electoral Commissions to ensure the transparency and co-operation of the elections, so that the elections can be credible.
He said it is not acceptable election irregularities and the increasing number of election-related complaints, and ordered that they should not hold an election for a contested seat.
The meeting came amid growing concerns over the recent parliamentary elections in South West, Northern Regions and Galmudug.
The Prime Minister held a lengthy meeting yesterday with the Union of Candidates, who expressed his deep concern over the election.
The PM is expected to hold an online meeting in the coming hours with the National Consultative Assembly comprising of Heads of State and the Governor of Benadir Region.
