Garowe (SD) – A statement from the Puntland and Jubaland Leaders’ Conference in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, announced that a consultative meeting on Somalia’s elections will be held in Mogadishu.
Regional presidents Deni and Ahmed had talks by phone with the Federal Government and other Member States and discussed the election process.
They also said that they have decided to attend a consultative meeting in Mogadishu, in order to discuss election issues and the transitional situation.
The leaders of Puntland and Jubaland thanked the international community for their efforts to ensure that Somalia’s elections are held on time.
Puntland and Jubaland leaders boycotted the recent Dhusamareb- 3 conference, were Somalia’s federal and regional leaders reached an agreement on an election model.
