Garowe (SD) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni on behalf of the government and the people of Puntland sent his condolences to the late Governor of Mudug region Ahmed Muse Nur’s relatives.

“President Deni shares his deepest sorrow and sends his condolences to the people of Puntland, especially the relatives, families and their children of Governor Ahmed Muse Nur, I pray to Allah to forgive the governors sins.’ Said the president’s statement.

The President of the Puntland Regional Government has also condemned the terrorist attack targeting the Governor of Mudug region, the President hoping that Allah (SWT) will grant the deceased his Jannah and wished the injured for full and speedy recovery.

On the other hand, the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab group claimed responsibility for today’s bombing in Galkayo that killed the governor of Mudug region, Ahmed Muse Nur.

According to the Al-Shabaab media, the blast occurred today and a statement from their army command said that a bomb blast in Galkayo killed the Puntland Mudug governor and few of his security detail.

A recent explosion in Garowe killed the governor of Nugal region, the latest attack comes as Puntland security forces were conducting heightened security operations in regional state.
