Galkayo (SD) – The Puntland security forces in Galkayo, in collaboration with the Somali National Army Command, have today killed a senior al-Shabaab commander in Mudug region.

A statement from the PSF Command in Puntland said that Puntland security forces, with the help of DANAB, killed an al Shabab commander in a planned operation in Mudug region, although they did not disclose the name of the officer.

The PSF statement said the killed Al Shabab official was the perpetrator of recent bombings carried out in Galkayo, killing high ranking Puntland officials. The terrorist head was said to be planning more bombings in Galkayo.

The security forces thanked the public for their tips and information, leading authorities to the pursued al-Shabaab officer in Mudug region.
