Bossaso (SD) – Puntland Traditionally Elders issued a statement outlining a solution to the crisis in Bossaso between Puntland PSF Commander General Mohamud Osman Diyano and the government of President Said Deni.

A six-point statement from the elders were addressed to Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni and the former PSF Director General Mohamud Osman Diyano.

The elders suggested that the president’s 24 November 2021 decree be implemented, and also hand over the houses, weapons and vehicles owned by General Mohamud Osman Abdullahi, and that the government pay for the former Commander’s bodyguards.

The Puntland administration, opposed one of the suggested resolutions made by the Bari regional traditional leaders earlier today.

A statement issued by the Puntland President’s Office tonight stated that the houses, weapons and vehicles of the PSF are the property of the people of Puntland, calling the traditional leaders assertion that Puntland’s property belongs to an individual.

Puntland has stated that this is an affront to the dignity of the state, as well as encouraging corruption and looting of public property.

The government has also instructed former Commander Mohamud Osman Diyano to hand over all PSF assets as soon as possible.
