Garowe December 18, 2022 (SD) – – Puntland State President Saeed Abdillahi Deni and the region’s nine political associations have resolved an electoral dispute following a meeting held in Garowe today.

The one-person, one-vote elections called by the regional government, a deviation from the usual process led to the dispute.

President Deni today accepted the implementation of 11 of the 13 conditions set out by the associations.

Under the agreement, the regional state will fund the political association, first with a lump sum, then on monthly basis.

However, Mideye, Horseed and Youth organizations walked out of the meeting and later boycotted the agreement.
