BOSSASO (SD) – Puntland security forces carried out operations in the mountains of the Bari region, where Al-Shabaab and Daesh groups have major bases.

The operation was carried out by units of Puntland Dervish together with the Special Intelligence Force of PISF and PMPF, and the operation took place in Golis and Cal-miskaad mountains.

The army officers leading the operation said that they destroyed Al-Shabaab and Daesh bases there, while the army seized some of the their equipment.

Neither the military nor the Al-Shabaab and Daesh groups have announced any casualties following this latest operations.

The security forces of Puntland have tried several times to expel Al Shabaab and ISIS from the mountainous regions in Puntland.
