Bossaso (SD) – Puntland authorities have reportedly blocked access to Bossaso with vehicles stopping at Armo district, 100km away.

The Puntland authorities are said to be allowing vehicles leaving Bossaso city.

The move is believed to be part of what the government says is a military operation to secure the port city.

Troops loyal to the PSF and President Deni have reportedly arrived in the city in recent days. The city’s intellectuals have repeatedly said they will not accept fighting in the city.

Tensions remain high between the PSF leadership and Puntland President, and the government is stepping up its military presence in Bossaso, while the PSF set up base in the eastern part of the city.
