GAROWE (SD) – The Vice President of Puntland State , Mr. Ahmed Elmi Osman Karash visited Saax-meygag region where two tribal militias recently fought.

The visit of the Vice President and his delegation is aimed at finding a lasting peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict between the two brotherly communities in the area.

The Vice President was welcomed in the area by members of the Puntland Clan leaders engaged in mediation between the fraternal communities.

The Vice President, accompanied by Puntland government officials, is scheduled to meet with the warring factions in Saax-meygag to end the conflict.

The vice president will remain there until the warring factions are dispersed, presidential officials told local media.
