Garowe (SD) – The President of Puntland State of Somalia, Abdullahi Deni, delivering a speech at the opening session of the 46th Parliament of Parliament said Puntland would not except the outcome of the Djibouti talks between Somalia and Somaliland.
President Deni said any dialogue between the central government and Somaliland, that does not include Puntland, its outcome would not be recognized by the regional state as it shares a border with Somaliland.
The meeting between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Somaliland government in Djibouti entered its second day, handing the dialogue over to a joint technical committee for further discussions.
Puntland regional state does not have a working relationship with the federal government of Somalia and is on a long standing conflict with Somaliland over the control of parts of Sool and Sanag regions of Somaliland.
The Somali government didn’t respond to Puntland’s decision not to recognize the outcome of the Djibouti conference.
