LAS ANOD -News coming from Sool region confirms that today clashes erupted between militias aligned with SSC-Khatumo and Somaliland on the outskirts of Las Anod, the capital city of the Sool region.

The intense conflict reportedly occurred in the village of Buqdharkin, located west of the city.

Local sources informed reporters that both sides utilized various types of heavy weaponry, and it’s unclear the extent of the casualties. A statement released by the SSC-Khatumo administration mentioned the clash, indicating that their forces were engaged in the area where the fighting took place.

Additionally, SSC asserted that there were significant injuries and casualties among Somaliland troops engaged in the outskirts of Las Anod.

On the other hand, Somaliland has not released an official statement regarding the conflict and its outcomes against the forces of SSC-Khatumo.

The situation remains tense, with reports of military movements showing the possibility of repeat fighting in some parts of Sool, controlled by both parties.
