Somalia: Council of Ministers approve security regulations, Discuss floods

MOGADISHU (SD) -The weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, approved the Cyber Security Bill and the National Security and Intelligence Agency Regulation.

The Council listened to report on the damage caused by floods in many regions of the country and expressed the need for concerted efforts to address the immediate relief and recovery needs of the affected areas.

The Council of Ministers has emphasized the importance of coordinating the efforts of relevant organizations in providing urgent assistance to the affected regions.

The Council has also reviewed reports on the country’s overall security, particularly the work of the Ministry of Internal Security and the recent operations aimed at stabilizing areas affected by floods.

The Director of NISA, Mahad Mohamed Salad, thanked the Council of Ministers of Somalia for ratifying the Law on the Structure of the Somali National Intelligence.

The legislation, which is of great importance and benefit to the improvement and modernization of the agency’s operations, responds to concerns related to the implementation of the National Security Law provisions, providing detailed information and regulations related to the agency’s work.
