NY February 08, 2023 (SD) – International community representatives in Somalia have released a statement expressing concern about the conflict in Laascaanood between the local people and the Somaliland government’s military.
The statement by the international community states that they are saddened by the fighting affecting the residents of the city and the damage caused by the conflict, including deaths and injuries.
The statement reads, “International friends are deeply worried about the violence currently taking place in Laascaanood that has caused harm to innocent civilians, including children.
” The international community representatives have called for an immediate cessation of the violence in Laascaanood and the resolution of the tensions through peaceful means, through negotiations.
