Hargeisa (SD) – Senator Mustafe Qodah, a former member of the Somalia’s Federal Upper house has today arrived in Hargeisa, the capital of the of Somaliland.
The senator recently resigned and forwarded a request for a pardon to the government of President Muse Bihi Abdi.
Mustafe Qodah, who flew in from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was warmly welcomed in Hargeisa four years later.
The lawmaker resigned from the federal Upper House at the end of his term, and said he was very happy to be back in Hargeisa, the city where he grew up.
“I am very happy, my feelings are indescribable, for four years and a month I was away from my hometown of Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, I am very happy to be back and bewelcomed by the media and the councils. ”said Mustafe Qodah.
Adding “I was in Dubai for a month, where I resigned my seat, and requested a pardon, that’s how I returned, I will give details later, however, I am very happy today”
Mustafe Qodah is the second member of parliament from the federal government to request a pardon to Somaliland last 60 days, Mohamed Omar Carte, a former deputy prime minister and member of the Somali parliament, being the other.
