Mogadishu (SD) – Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has issued a statement condemning the renewed fighting in Galmudug between Ahlu Sunna and the Galmudug administration.

“The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble laments the ongoing conflict in Galmudug.” Said PM Roble.

Ahlu Sunna on Friday captured the towns of Guriel and Mataban in Galgadud and Hiran regions, as well as several villages in Galgadud.

“The Prime Minister extends his condolences to the victims of the clashes between Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama and Galmudug forces, prays for a speedy recovery of those injured.” Said PM Roble.

The Prime Minister reminded Galmudug officials of their responsibilities and priorities.

“The Galmudug leadership has a responsibility to maintain peace, order and unity among the people of Galmudug, and to resolve conflicts and other non-violent conflicts as soon as possible.” Said PM Roble.

Adding “The Prime Minister calls on all Galmudug residents and authorities to join hands and unite in the fight against Al Shabaab terrorists and anyone who threatens the stability, governance and development of Galmudug.”
