MOGADISHU (SD) – Incumbent Bihi Iman Egeh retained his lower house seat in the just concluded election which place at the General Kahiye Police Academy.
Ige got 92 votes while his opponent Abdirahman Hassan Ismail secured nine votes only.
Elections for Somalia’s Lower House of Parliament began on Monday morning in Mogadishu.
Earlier in the day, Somali deputy PM Guled defeated Mushtaq Ibrahim Yusuf for seat HOP239 by receiving 97 votes, while Yusuf received three votes.
Guled was initially meant to challenge incumbent Hussein Arab Essa.
The election was overseen by observers, the Federal Electoral Commission members, and the Dispute Resolution Committee.
Somaliland has 61 seats in the Lower House.
