MOGADISHU (SD) -The Deputy Commander of the Somali National Army, General Abdullahi Adan Hussein (Irro), along with a delegation of officers, has visited areas recently liberated from Al-Shabaab in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions.
In recent weeks, the Somali National Army has conducted operations in the Xawaadley area of the Middle Shabelle region, successfully freeing the villages of Maqdis, Jameeco, Shanlow, Busley, Dhagaxow, Raasqaboobe, and Yaaqle from Al-Shabaab control.
While in the village of Yaaqle, General Abdullahi stated to the media that this extensive operation aims to clear Al-Shabaab from the regions they occupy in the Shabelle areas within a short time frame.
He added that local forces and ATMIS troops are participating in the operation to support the national military, emphasizing that these operations will continue until Al-Shabaab is completely removed from Somalia.
