JANALE (SD) -The Somali National Army’s 83rd Brigade and the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) jointly carried out a coordinated operation targeting Al-Shabaab-held villages in the Janaale district of the Lower Shabelle region.
The targeted villages included Buule-arundi, Malable, Beeraha-baay, and Busley-daa’uud. The national forces successfully captured these key Al-Shabaab strongholds and disrupted their communication between the two areas. Al-Shabaab militants had been using these villages as military bases.
The operation aimed to weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence in the region and enhance the security situation. The Somali government forces, along with its partners, continue to confront and counteract the threats posed by Al-Shabaab to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
