Somali ambassador to Kenya walks out on Kenyatta for inviting Somaliland Represantative

NAIROBI (SD) – Somalia’s ambassador to Kenya Mohamed Ahmed Nur Tarzan reportedly stormed out of a meeting between international ambassadors to Kenya and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ambassador Tarzan left the conference following the arrival of the Somaliland Representative to Kenya, Mohamed Barwaani, which caused a great deal of controversy and led to his departure.

The Represantative with the Somaliland flag, was seated next to Somalia’s Ambassador at the conference, forcing Ambassador Tarzan to leave the conference, according to diplomats working for Somali embassy in Nairobi.

Kenya has in recent years stepped up diplomatic relations with Somaliland, following a bitter feud with the former government of Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta was due to deliver his final address to international ambassadors in Nairobi today.
