Mogadisho June 11, 2023 (SD) -A major military operation is currently underway in the village of Buulo Mohamed Abdalla in the Awdheegle district of Lower Shabelle region, as announced by the Ministry of Information of Somalia.

The operation, conducted jointly by the National Army and international partners, has resulted in the elimination of several members of the Al-Shabaab group.

The operation, which is ongoing, has reportedly killed 19 members of Al-Shabaab according to SONNA news agency. It is also reported that the joint operation targeted vehicles and hideouts used by the Al-Shabaab group.

The operation is in response to a recent surge in attacks by Al-Shabaab, and it is believed to be part of the ongoing efforts by Somali forces and their international allies to combat terrorism in the region.

Furthermore, there has been no official statement from the Al-Shabaab group regarding this particular military operation, which has been the biggest setback for the extremist group in recent times.
