BAIDOA (SD) – A minister in prime minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble’s cabinet was today elected a member of parliament in Baidoa town of Southwest state less than two weeks after the federal and regional state leaders sealed electoral deal in Mogadishu.
Hassan Abdinuur, who is serving the ministry for energy and water resources has retained his parliamentary seat after defeating Mohamed Abdullahi Ali by 72 to 27 votes. The poll agency also declared two votes invalid.
The state also expected to hold elections of four seats within today, according to Southwest state electoral Implementation Team.
The second which was vacated by Abdi Osman will be contested by Mohamed Adan Mohamed and Mohamed Ibrahim Issack while third seat will be between Mohamed Mursal Mohamed Borow and Abdihakin Mustaf Ibrahim. Mursal served last parliament.
Fourth Seat Hop 46, which is currently held by Rabaco Sheikh Nur, will be contested by Mohamed Wardere Adan and another Member.
Sharif Mohamed Abdallahi of HOP 85, will defend his seat which is contested by Sharif Mohamed Abdullahi and another Member.
