MOGADISHU (SD) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received the Special Envoy of the Chinese Government for the Horn of Africa, Mr. Xue Bing, who is on an official visit to our country at the National Palace.

President Hassan Sheikh and Ambassador Xue Bing discussed strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the areas of security, economy, politics, diplomacy, trade, and education to enhance the shared interests of Somalia and China.

The President shared with the ambassador the progress made by our country and the investment opportunities available, which can be shared between Somalia and China. He noted that Somalia is currently ready to engage with regional and international challenges and opportunities.

In turn, Ambassador Xue Bing thanked the Somali leadership and people for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation. He praised the Federal Government’s achievements in security, combating terrorism, and ensuring peace and progress in the Horn of Africa, which is based on good neighborliness, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in the region.
