Jigjiga March 09, 2023 (SD) – The government of the Somali region in Ethiopia dismissed the claim that their troops have been fighting in the Sool region against Somaliland forces.

In a statement released by the regional government, it informed the Somaliland administration that there were no troops from the regional state involved in the fighting in Laascaanood and that the regional government has condemned the allegations raised by officials from the Somaliland administration.

It is clear that the Somaliland administration is politicizing the situation and is not willing to answer the questions about the situation in the Sool region said the statement.

The Somali regional state in Ethiopia called on the Somaliland administration to refrain from words and actions that could alienate the two peoples.
