JIG JIGA (SD) -The Security Forces of the Somali Regional State of Ethiopia have issued a security warning regarding organized terrorist activities attempting to infiltrate the territory of the Somali Regional State.

A security warning issued by the Office of Security of the Somali Regional State informed the public in the Somali region not to be misled by groups described as organized terrorists attempting to enter the territory under the guise of tribal identity.

“As everyone is aware, the terrorist group Al-Shabaab has intentions to infiltrate the country. However, since they were unable to move around the country while armed and marked with Al-Shabaab insignia,” stated the warning from the Office of Security of the Somali Regional State.

“They have changed their strategy and are now attempting to enter the area disguised under tribal identities, particularly mobilizing youth in the name of tribe, especially in the border regions,” the warning from the Office of Security of the Somali Regional State continued.

The regional state forces also announced that they are beginning operations to thwart the terrorist plans and have once again warned the public not to be deceived by the recruitment efforts carried out by these terrorist groups within the region.

“Therefore, the honorable people of the region, including youth, elders, intellectuals, religious scholars, and women, are warned not to be misled by the mobilization efforts of Al-Shabaab members hiding under the name of tribe,” the warning added.
