Somalia: 38 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours

Mogadishu (SD) – Minister of Health Fauzia Abikar Nur in her daily COVID-19 briefings has today confirmed additional new cases of COVID-19 infection in the country.

The Somali Health minister has confirmed 38 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

35 new cases were diagnosed in Banadir Region and three other cases were confirmed from the Somaliland Administration.

The total number of COVID-19 infection cases was 873 cases, 1 patient died, and 12 patients had recovered.

The Minister reminded the community of the proverb, ‘Prevention is better than cure’ and told the public to take responsibility for controlling COVID-19 infection, come up with preventive actions such as hand washing, social isolation and reducing visits to public places.
