Mogadishu December 16, 2022 (SD) – The government of Somalia said it recently carried out an attack in cooperation with international partners that killed a large number of Al Shabaab militants in central Somalia.
Deputy Minister of Information Abdirahman Yusuf Al Adalah who spoke to the media said that 88 Al Shabaab fighters were killed in an airstrike.
“32 of the Al-Shabaab bodies have been identified, the rest could not be identified. and they were bombed in an isolated place where they were gathering,” said Minister Al-Adala.
US forces supporting Somali forces have been known to carry out air strikes against the militants. Al Shabaab has not yet commented on the government’s claims.
