Mogadishu (SD) – The Somali federal government and the Somaliland government congratulated Kenya on a UN seat, defeating Djibouti.
The Somali federal government congratulated Kenya on the United Nations Security Council seat, defeating the government of Djibouti.
The Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs on a posted tweet said they are confident Kenya will be working in the interests of the region.
On the other hand, the Somaliland government congratulates the Kenyan Government on the success of the United Nations Security Council seat in Djibouti tonight.
Ambassador Bashe Awil, Somaliland’s Representative to Kenya in on Facebook post said they would like to congratulate the people and the Kenyan government on their success.
“On behalf of the Somaliland Liaison office in Nairobi and the people of Somaliland, I take this earliest opportunity to congratulate Kenya for earning seat to the United Nations Security Council for the year 2021-2022. Indeed, the election of Kenya by the members of the United Nations is a clear manifestation of the respect and confidence the global family holds Kenya” said the Ambassador.
The comments came the same day both Somalia and Somaliland concluded historic talks mediated by Djibouti.
