Somalia and Turkey discuss ways to implement Defense and Cooperation Agreement

MOGADISHU (SD) -Minister of Defense of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Somali National Army, received a delegation from the Turkish government at the Ministry of Defense headquarters today.

The meeting discussed the implementation of a Defense and Economic Cooperation Agreement between the two countries, which was recently signed in Ankara.

Among the topics discussed during the meeting was the enhancement of training and equipment for the Somali National Army (SNA) and the strengthening of operations against extremists threatening Somalia.

The Turkish delegation included officials from the Navy, Land Forces, and representatives from the Turkish Ministry of Defense.

The meeting was attended by Somalia’s Chief of Naval Forces, Admiral Abdi Warsame, the Chief of Land Forces, General Dayah Abdi Abdulle, and other military officials from Somalia.
