MOGADISHU (SD) - The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, received the UK Ambassador to Somalia, Michael Nithavrianakis, at his office. They discussed the cooperation and common interests of the two countries, particularly in the areas of security, politics, fighting Al-Shabaab, and returning the right of the people to elect their leaders through public elections. The Prime Minister shared with the Ambassador that the Somali government is committed to implementing one-person-one-vote elections, where the citizens can choose their leaders. Ambassador Michael expressed that the UK government supports Somalia's policy of implementing one-person-one-vote elections, fighting Al-Shabaab, and ensuring Somali forces take over the country's overall security.
